Shaky start to Second test

The Australian cricket team was rocked by the injury of key paceman, Glenn McGrath during the warm up to the second test at Edgbaston. With less than 30 minutes before the game starts, the Australian team had to call up Michael Kaprowicz to take the place of the injured McGrath.

With an under-strength attack, the Australians won the toss and elected to bat. This was a decision that may come back to haunt the Aussies as the first ball of the day was so wide it was taken by the keeper between first and second slip. Soon after, an edge to second slip was dropped at slip by Warne.

The England openers, quickly moved to a 50 run opening partnership in just 11 overs. A poor start from Australia and there will need to be a big effort to claw back the advantage from the England team.
