I'm Baaaaack!
After an extended time off the air due to computer breakdowns and being busy with both work and studies, I got back into the Grandstand Sports Forum to find that they have placed this blog on a rolling banner as an affiliate. Thanks Eagleboy.......I think. I suppose now I'll have to put in some extra effort to ensure that there is something that appears here a little more often. So, on with the show.
Closest NRL competition ever!
With 20 rounds of NRL competition completed and being only 6 rounds away from the final series, we have the closest competition that the NRL has ever seen.
In second place, we have the Eels on 26 points. Just one game behind on 24 points is a log-jam of 6 teams. The only results that appear certain, is that the Broncos will make the finals and the Rabbitohs will get another wooden spoon to add to their already burgeoning collection.
The surprise package from last year, the North Queensland Cowboys* look lioke they have the ability to make this an all Queensland Grand Final. A big call this far out I know. The biggest danger comes from a resurgent Bulldogs team that is finally starting to get of it's star players back from injuries.
The big NRL questions will be covered over the next 3 months as the finales get closer.
- Will it be an all Qld grand final?
- Who can beat the rampaging Broncos?
- Are the Melbourne Storm the dark horse coming in under the radar?
- Will the returning Doggies players push them into flag contention?
- Will Serge spit at the Rabbitoh's wooden spoon barbs?
All will be revealed.
*Those of us in the North still can't believe they didn't choose the nickname of stockmen, particularly when one of their major sponsors was the Stockland group.
